Today is the day reflections. It reflects on the many initiatives

Also in Italy the event 100 squares for the climate sponsored by The Web of Life, which has
attended by numerous associations, has had great success. In more than 200 squares dotted around the peninsula were organized banquets, fairs, shows, parades, etc.. Focal point, Piazza Farnese in Rome, where the world environmental and citizens gathered to forge a major initiative in contemporary country.
Many delegates have followed on the screens of Bella Center events worldwide and many said they were heartened by the attention shown by the people on the issue.
Meanwhile, the Ministers who continue to arrive over the next five days (defined as high level) will negotiate the much-discussed two draft texts proposed by the Ad Hoc Working Group (the EU has expressed major concern, especially with regard to failing that, within the outline of legal constraints, financial and policy commitments of funds for adaptation). In practice, this will determine which of the various items included in the draft in brackets [x], must be confirmed in the final text. A game of numbers, commas and periods that may be decisive in the fight against global warming. The main points are:
- reduction [20], [30], [50]% of global greenhouse gas emissions compared to 1990 levels for developed countries in 2020 (probably will be agreed on 35%
- reduction [50], [75], [90]% or more of the issues (again compared to 1990) to 2050 (this point will be much debated, especially because the long-term goal is seen by many as "not relevant to domestic policy initiatives," since in 2050 many of the current negotiations will not be on Earth);
- adoption a new text, presented as "the Copenhagen Convention" or development of the Kyoto Protocol Phase 2 (with the inclusion of the USA and binding commitments for developing countries. It 'has been suggested, very likely, that we can approve both texts, with the Kyoto Protocol 2 valid until 2012 and the new convention by the post-2012);
- remain, however, still options open for developing countries ranging from [x% reduction in emissions by 2020 and new targets for 2050], a [reduction in a demanding, controlling and counting of GHG emissions] (of course this is the real key to the problem, on which discussions will be most relevant, any hard prediction. China, India and the G77 are pushing for "no strings attached to them and Kyoto2 Protocol for developed countries", others - including the Confederation of small islands - pushing instead for a new deal that will bring within the legal constraints in developing countries Otherwise, the U.S. first and foremost, trying to achieve a stalemate, that is merely a political agreement, not legally binding).
